UPM Tilhill, the UK\'s leading arboriculture and environmental works company, has been awarded a new contract with CE Electric UK to undertake vegetation management operations for its subsidiary company, Yorkshire Electricity Distribution plc (YEDL).

The three-year contract involves the clearance and ongoing maintenance of vegetation encroachment adjacent to 9,000km of high voltage and 3,500km of extra high voltage electricity lines across West, South and East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire.

"Our dedicated utility management team is delighted to have secured this contract from CE Electric UK where the priority will be on making sure power lines remain clear of vegetation in order to ensure public safety and continuity of supply," said Pete Jackson, Commercial Development Manager, UPM Tilhill. "UPM Tilhill is recognised within the industry for its exemplary quality, safety and environmental credentials and we are particularly well-placed to support YEDL\'s safe and secure electricity network."

UPM Tilhill is already contracted to CE Electric UK\'s other subsidiary company, Northern Electric Distribution Limited (NEDL) covering 10,500km of high voltage and 2,00km of extra high voltage electricity lines in the North East and North Yorkshire.
